I wanted just the right rock for this cat, and found it in Lake Michigan. It had a "tail" that curled around the body of the rock, which gave him a very realistic look. I actually had people come up and try to pet this rock, thinking it was real. Again, this was made easier for me by the excellent photos provided by Nicholas's owners. What a beautiful cat!

Tahoe is a beautiful golden lab who's rock portrait I had the great honor to paint. Her owner sent me 6 excellent photos, which made it very easy to capture the warm colors of her coat, and her wonderful spirit.

Nellie is a bulldog pup who will eat anything, even her owners couch! They adore her anyway and commisioned a rock. I worked from 3 photos. 1 good head shot, a side, and a rear view. I found the perfect rock in a small creek while on a hike . I carried it at least a mile back to the car,but it was well worth the sore arms. The rock perfectly accomodated Nellie's huge head, and her owner Jeff was very happy with his new pet!

Tigerlily loves to nap in the sun! It was great fun capturing her blissful expression and beautiful colors of her coat. The rock I used came from Lake Michigan and was wonderful to hold and pet, just like Tigerlily. It was the perfect rock for this very special cat.
